In its raw uncured form, LSR is two parts liquid that are mixed together (mixing of Part A and Part B starts the curing) and heated to accelerate the curing process. LSRs are generally injection molded or cast. Room temperature liquid silicone compound is injected into and cured in a hot mold vs. plastic pellets melted into hot liquid and forced into a cooled mold.
LSR is available in multiple colors and hardness levels, making it suitable for a wide range of products. It’s water-resistant and won’t degrade when exposed to chemical solvents. In addition to standard LSR, food grade liquid silicone, medical grade liquid silicone and electrically conductive variations are also available. They are also hypoallergenic, resistant to bacteria and mold growth and possess high tensile strength.
